ABOUT ME
I am a Sydney based Multi-media Artist whose passions are textiles and beading. Throughout my life, colour has been at the core of my creative endeavours. Flowers and nature have always been a source of inspiration for me and I delight in depicting flowers and foliage through the changing seasons in appliqué, machine embroidery, hand embroidery and beading.
My art training was in painting and I obtained a BA in Fine Art (Ceramics) in 1989 at Sydney College of the Arts. For over forty years I made ceramics using custom made glazes to decorate my wares.
As a young girl, I was introduced to knitting, crochet, sewing and embroidery by my Aunts. Over the past 15 years, I began attending textile workshops which rekindled my love for all things textile. I now make nuno-felted scarves and create appliqued works which incorporate free machine embroidery and hand embroidery. Recently I have added beading to my repertoire, where I make brooches, bracelets and necklaces using various beading techniques.
